Western Canada POC Meet in Banff
Meet Date: May 26, 2007
Where: Banff, Alberta
Depart: May 24
Well it's time to meet some of our fellow probe enthusiasts from around the country.
Anyone willing to make the drive to Banff will surely be rewarded with many unique photo
opportunities and a chance to meet new people and make some great friends. The plan as
devised by Liquid Biohazard and myself is to drive up Thursday so we can have Friday to
find cool places for photos and check out the local Banff scenery.
We will meet up in the Tim Horton's Parking lot at 200th & 86th Ave in Langley.
We will all meet up at 8:45am with a departure time of 9:00am. If you have GMRS/FRS
Radios, bring them along with you as we will need to keep communication between vehichles.
With no stops the trip will (legally) take us approx 10 hours to complete. This doesn't
account for Extreme weather conditions in the Coquihalla pass or in the Rockies. So the
earlier we leave the better.
There will most likely be a an unofficial show'n'shine for the cars that show up
so bring your detailing supplies, we can wash the cars friday after breakfast and do a club
detailing. Friday night we can see who's on the trip, and either hit a night-spot or
mixed-age establishment. (FYI: The Legal Drinking Age in Alberta is 18)
Details on Saturday are a little sketchy, but I will update this as they become
available. The bulk of the activities will be Saturday, as most teams will depart sunday
to return home.
We will be staying in pairs in a Hotel/Motel in Banff, I will research some places
to stay when we get a little closer, but the basic arrangements will be two people to a
room, so try to work out who you want to stay with and let me know, we'll make reservations
so no one has to sleep in their car (unless of course you can't be apart).
